Tips for a Stress-Free Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Meal planning is fiercely underway. Festivity is in the air. All of the preparation can be very stressful, especially if you are hosting a large gathering at your place.

Then, there’s the gathering itself, the people, and the food. Will the food come out right? Will everyone get along? For some, there’s an added concern of indigestion and challenging bodily functions, even while our mouths water over the image of pies and turkeys.

With any feast, there are three essential bodily concerns: your energy level, your body’s ability to digest food, and your ability to withstand stress during family get-togethers and preparing for one of the year’s busiest meals!

To shape your digestion and prepare your body ahead of time, try some of these energy exercises to keep you relaxed and calm, so that you can really enjoy your Thanksgiving!

  1. De-Stress the Body
To cope with the stress of food prep and intricate family dynamics, you can stroke the area behind your ears to calm yourself. This movement is similar to tucking your hair behind your ears. Do it as often as possible.
  2. Boost Energy For more energy to handle chores and guests, you can simply massage a couple of points under your collarbones. Locate the tip of the collarbone under your throat and, moving down and out an inch, massage the points on both sides of the body.
  3. Beef Up the Digestion
To give your stomach a hand while it works overtime during this time of the year, massage the lower edge of your breast tissue, starting from the sternum (middle of the chest) and moving in a semi-circle to the sides of the rib cage. For women, this is the path along your bra line. For men, this is a half-moon area within two inches around your nipples.

Starting today, take some time every day to do these simple and quick exercises. When Thanksgiving rolls around, you’ll be equipped with both skills and a better body to really enjoy the gathering, the people and the food.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Post Surgery Recovery – A Powerful Story

This is a powerful story of a grandmother helping her two-year old granddaughter to achieve rapid post surgery recovery from a 4-hour surgery to the amazement of us all.

Jane, whose husband has been to my energy classes, and I met before the Christmas holiday 2015. Their two-year old granddaughter Christy was going to have her third surgery on the face/neck over the holiday. In passing I asked if she was willing to do some figure 8’s along the surgery line. She said that she would try. After New Year’s Day 2016 I received a grateful note from her on how smooth the operation/recovery was this time around. This is her recap of what happened when I asked if she would be willing to share their story.

1/13/2016

Dear Dan,
Thanks for your note. I will be happy to share.
Christy was born with a branchial cleft cyst, unable to drain.

She would get ear infection, respiratory problems and pneumonia as well.

The surgeries were very delicate as they were on the face, going through nerves and arteries.

The first two 4-hour surgeries were unable to get all the cyst out. But coming out of the recovery and anesthesia were very rough – shaking – crying – fever and intense pain. She cried off and on all night

Here is the only way that I can describe her 3rd surgery on the 18th. She went in at noon and it was another 4-hour surgery. As she was waking up, they called us in recovery. As she woke, I immediately started with the 8’s. She would turn towards my hand and nod out again. That was actually the surgery side where she was bandaged. This lasted for 2 hours that I did the 8’s. She was in and out about 4 times.

She was then able to go to a room about 6:00 pm. I continued until she was awake. She only had 1 reaction and that was to the elastic from tape on her face. She did not cry for long which surprised us, as she was swollen and covered with the blotches. She was better within minutes. She calmed down with 2 chocolate milks and a popsicle. My husband and I were able to leave the hospital at 8:30 pm. Christy said “I go in your car Grandma!”

After we left I spoke to her mother the following day. We were pleased to hear she ate a full dinner and slept through the night.

One month later, all seems to be going well. I had to see it to believe it. My husband witnessed as well as her mother. I know it helped! Thanks so much.

Sincerely, Janet

Calming PTSD Symptoms: A 4th of July EEM Experience

This is a wonderful story of how several minutes of energy work at the right place and right time provides profound healing and changes someone’s life forever.

A few months ago, I went to a July 4th picnic dinner at a friend’s backyard that borders a golf course. Part of the appeal of the picnic was that you could see the city fireworks directly from the golf course.

One guest sitting at our table warned us that he suffered from PTSD, and when a neighbor set off some small fireworks, the guest became nervous and decided to go inside the house. The fireworks from the neighbor were sporadic, so after a while the guest came out thinking that he was fine — only to sit down on a tree frog, which sent him flying back inside the house.

He came back a while later, but soon after he sat down, the city’s fireworks started. He became so nervous that he got up and told us that he had to leave.

As the nervous guest was leaving, I said to an older gentleman sitting nearby that I knew something that could help. The older gentleman immediately stopped the departing guest saying that Dan (pointing to me) could help.

After obtaining permission from the guest, he sat back down at the table and I put my hands on the front and back of his head (holding the main NV points and Fire/Water NV points). The pulse came quickly to the forehead, and I was yawning already (my response to energy shifting), when he said, “Interesting. I can sense something shifting.”

The older gentleman went to use the restroom while I was holding the guest’s NV points, and by then the fireworks were non-stop. The energy shifted quickly (as I let out many more yawns), so I removed my hands and sat back down.

The guest was amazed that the bells and whistles of the fireworks no longer had any effect on him. Both of us were bubbling, happy, and laughing when the older gentleman returned from the restroom. It took less than two minutes for the shift to happen.

Needless to say, the guest stayed and enjoyed the whole fireworks show, which I found out later was a pretty big one since it was the city’s 100- year celebration!
